چکیده

We derive the peak luminosity–peak energy (Liso–Epeak) correlation using 22 long Gamma– Ray Bursts (GRBs) with firm redshift measurements. We find that its slope is similar to the correlation between the time integrated isotropic emitted energy Eiso and Epeak (Amati et al. 2002). For the 15 GRBs in our sample with estimated jet opening angle we compute the collimation corrected peak luminosity Lγ , and find that it correlates with Epeak. This has, however, a scatter larger than the correlation between Epeak and Eγ (the time integrated emitted energy, corrected for collimation; Ghirlanda et al. 2004), which we ascribe to the fact that the opening angle is estimated through the global energetics. We have then selected a large sample of 442 GRBs with pseudo–redshifts, derived through the lag–luminosity relation, to test the existence of the Liso–Epeak correlation. With this sample we also explore the possibility of a correlation between time resolved quantities, namely Lpiso and the peak energy at the peak of emission E peak.

Correlation between the Peak Spectral Energy of Gamma-Ray Bursts and the Peak Luminosity of the Underlying Supernovae: Implication for the Nature of GRB-SN Connection

In this paper we present a correlation between the peak spectral energy of gammaray bursts (GRBs) and the peak bolometric luminosity of the underlying supernovae (SNe), based on a sample of four pairs of GRBs-SNe with spectroscopically confirmed connection. Combining it with the well-known relation between the peak spectral energy and the isotropic equivalent energy of GRBs, we obtain an upper ...

Gamma-Ray Burst Luminosity Functions Based On a Newly Discovered Correlation Between Peak Spectral Energy and V/Vmax

We have discovered a correlation between the observed peak spectral energy Epk,obs and the Euclidean value of < V/Vmax > of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). We present the evidence for the correlation in the GUSBAD catalog and use it to derive the luminosity function of GRBs without using any redshifts. The procedure involves dividing GUSBAD GRBs into five spectral classes based on their Epk,obs. The o...

Testing the gamma-ray burst variability/peak luminosity correlation on a Swift homogeneous sample

We test the gamma-ray burst correlation between temporal variability and peak luminosity of the γ-ray profile on a homogeneous sample of 36 Swift/BAT GRBs with firm redshift determination. This is the first time that this correlation can be tested on a homogeneous data sample. The correlation is confirmed, as long as the 6 GRBs with low luminosity (< 5× 10 erg s in the rest-frame 100-1000 keV e...

The spectra of short Gamma–Ray Bursts

We present the results of the spectral analysis of a sample of short bright γ–ray bursts (GRB) detected by BATSE and compare them with the average and time resolved spectral properties of long bright bursts. While the spectral parameters of short GRBs confirm, as expected from previous works based on the hardness ratio, that they are harder than long events, we find that this difference is main...

Selection effects on GRB spectral-energy correlations

Instrumental selection effects can act upon the estimates of the peak energy Eobs peak, the fluence F and the peak flux P of GRBs. If this were the case, then the correlations involving the corresponding rest frame quantities (i.e. Epeak, Eiso and the peak luminosity Liso) would be questioned. We estimated, as a function of Eobs peak, the minimum peak flux necessary to trigger a GRB and the min...
